The college is hosting a conference for a hundred Pennsylvania early childhood educators, and I'm on call as their tech support. After spending most of the day making a "reflections" video for them, I arrive 10 minutes before it is to be presented to pop in the DVD and play it.

Right.

The projector had NOTHING attached to it.
Run back to tech center for laptop with internal DVD player and amp for the sound
Drive golf cart back
Hook up system. We are now 15 minutes late. Projector will not find the laptop (trust me, I tried everything)
No other such systems are available. Drive golf cart to science center for my laptop. Drive to car. Car to home (5 minutes). Get external DVD player and cords. Drive back. Get back in golf cart and back to hall. Now 40 minutes late.
Projector still won't find laptop. Decide it's the projector's port. Golf cart to tech center. Rip out DVD player and RCA cable. Get ready to go and...
Realise I need to connect male RCA to male 1/8 to make audio connection. No such adapter at college. Must spend 10 minutes doing mind puzzle until I figure out I can jimmyrig a converter by going RCA to 1/4 to 1/8 using 3 converters (after studying two boxes containing 30 or more converters, just not ones I need apparently)
Back to hall in golf cart, now a little more than an hour late (they're starting to finish their main course). Test and success.
Presenter does intro. No sound now! Flip player on/off. No dice. Wiggle my ghetto series of converters. SUCCESS AND DEATH BY ADRENALINE.

I was about to say "nah, I don't want a drink" but I was lying to myself ;D

I think the coup de grace was needing to wiggle the audio adapters. That last bit of stress just put me over the top - seriously, how much can go wrong at once? In the end it was all worth it, though. I got more applause/cheering for fixing the system and the video I produced than I got at my Eagle Scout ceremony ;D

I should be having one of those within the next six months. If all goes according to plan. I gotta hurry though. My 18th is on its way...and it came way to fast, Seems like yesterday I was 14 and a life scout saying that I wasnt in a hurry, because 18 was soooo far away.

Talk about cutting it close.;)

I have had 2 projects, but they have both fell through, one because the guy that I was doing it for backed out, and the other because the Eagle Board didnt like the idea, in my opinion, the Eagle Board Could shove it where the sun dont shine that night.

I've always had a hard time with projectors and things like that... they never seem to work, and I can't remember a time that I was able to fix one

I gather that you have to finish this by your eighteenth birthday?

Yes, you have to have your project and all requirements completed by your eighteenth birthday, Im not sure if you have to have the eagle board by then or not. I have to ask one of my leaders. Once I get my eagle, I already have enough extra merit badges and other hoop la to get me my first palm, and almost a second palm:D

I was refering to a place that the sun doesnt shine, late in the day, commonly called night the pulled out the 'Declined' stamp...:mad2:
