Summer Vacations

Just wondering what everybody's been up to if they've had time off. This is my last summer vacation, and I just got back from New York State on vacation. My graduation present was a rock climbing trip up there, but I had to drive 8 hours solo! My first "road trip" I guess. So! Has anybody else been on a trip?

This time next week, I'll be enjoying the sunny south of Tennessee. Should be great. :)

Spent a weekend in Detroit with some craaaaaazy Short-Medians, then spent a relaxing week in Napa, San Francisco, Big Sur, and Berkeley.

I spent 4 weeks in Indianapolis. Well...that was work though. We went back home to Tennessee for my 25 year high school reunion. That's about the extent of my "vacation".

I'm planning to visit my son in January/February when he returns to his base in Germany (he's currently in Iraq). It will be my first time outside the USA.

My wife and I are travelling down to Florida this year. We're going in early September, after she's done teaching summer school, but before her own classes/research/whatever restart in the fall.

We're going to visit my father/stepmother/sisters in Atlanta on the way down, then in Florida we're staying in Venice for several days, then driving across to Deland to visit CrazyJoe and his girlfriend before coming home.


Chattanooga is fun. I've vacationed there several times... I can't even count how many times I've been to the Tennessee Aquarium. The new expansion was pretty disappointing, though. :(

The first week in August... 8 friends and their families all going up to Wisconsin Dells. All of us have condos that we rented... 5 days for relaxing.

spent two weeks in may traveling around china, and then spending the rest of the summer until aug 21st mostly in beijing or around beijing area. so technically i'm still on vacation.
