I think the UK took 3 out of 5 rounds of Domination, all rounds of TDM. 3/3 CTF maps were US, and 2/2 LMS as well. That's from my (admittedly shoddy) memory.

Hmmm... I'm sure we (US) won a Team DM. It was by like 15 points, too :)
And did we really have five rounds of domination? Doesn't seem like so many... didn't someone keep official score...

BTW, good games everyone. Some stuck player issues need to be worked out on the server.

The team DM was a bit messy. A few of us (including me) were spawning on the wrong team. For a while I had not realized this and started blowing away team USA for the UK, not to mention every time there was a team change to correct the error, that made for a point subtraction.

I would REALLY love to do that again guys! It was a totally killer (literally and figuratively) morning for me! But if we do, would there be any way to be sure we only spawned on the correct teams?

I came in on the wrong team quite a few times as well. For some reason I had to change 3 times in one game and still came back on blue, By time I got to red the game finished!
Great way to spend an evening though, I hope it happens again.

Fun was had by all I think (althought our CTF was awful)

I had the same problem as you bothered. Couple of times I ended up on blue and had to jump back to red. And gained -1 on my frags everytime I did it. Next time we are going to have to try and get them to remove the team evener so we stay on the correct team.

Tell me about it.. Not only that, but two people crapped out of Team US at the LAST HOUR (THANKS, GUYS!!!! :( ) so we were one short, and then the server was crashed and we couldn't get in touch with the hosting company, but finally with like 5 minutes before noon, we got through to support on their IRC channel and they rebooted it. It was touch and go for sure, but we somehow pulled it off.. :)

Thanks for recommending wolfie Blackhawk but how long it will take to suss out what I'm supposed to do in it God knows. I have found out you're not supposed to shoot members of your own team. A training level would be nice, I would think it takes quite a while before you could get a working team together. I watched one bloke make a bridge, How'd he do that?

If you've played RtCW than it isn't that hard. You select an engineer. Hit #5 and a wrench will apear. You walk towards a bunch of crates with a flag of the team color and when an icon pops up, you press the fire button and he'll create whatever he's supposed to create. Be that a command post, a land mine, fixing a tank or creating a bridge. Read the guide (http://games.activision.com/games/wolfenstein/enemyterritory/ettest_playerguide.html#C.%20%20Engineer) ;)

I think you will find the server that hosts short-media is very friendly to US and UK connections.

If OS compatibility is an issue, I would be willing to donate a machine for a few days to wage war.

Also, in all fairness, a UK based host needs to be found and re-matches held. Unless, we get our asses kicked in the first place ;)

NS True. Time between shots are slower too :sad2: I can say that the only thing I like about UT2K3 is Instagib. Played once with a mod that was a rapid fire instagib. Matches usually finished with 60+ kills :buck: If you play it for a few hrs at a lan party the game is pretty cool.

I'm not all ticked off or anything, (I'm giving the other comments the benefit of the doubt as well), but I would hate to see this turn into something more than good-natured ribbing.

We have a sad anniversary coming up in two weeks. Let me just finish my comments by saying that the overwhelming sentiment in the US is that we feel damn lucky that there are so many other countries willing to come to our aid at a time we need it. There have been many brave British (and Canadian) troops who have paid the ultimate price in doing so, some of them due to extremely unfortunate mistakes made by those who are indeed very grateful for their support. I don't know that we should be joking about it.

Just to clarify, I was just talking $hit 'bout UT. Hell, as of late you Brits are the only true Allies we have. I spent 4 yrs. in the US Army (3rd AD and 82nd CML CO) and 8 yrs. as a Reservist (278th Armored Cavalry Regiment and 234th Signal Battallion), and would never talk that kind of $hit about Allied troops. WTF. Now that we've got that out of the way... Prepare to be Pwnd in the Tourney.

Have you played on the Addaboy server? They set the speed on overdrive, not exactly a good starting point for learning the skills of the game. ;D I could however play on regular servers and learn the game but that takes more time than I have, besides, with Half-Life2 coming out, who cares. :D

It's get a little frustrating when your main activity is respawning into a looney bin of maniacs flying around all over, especially with low grav and tight air control. I'm not the greatest player around, but I have a reasonable collection of "YOU'VE WON THE MATCH" screens. BTW are we talking UT or 2003 here?

Yep, The servers there for all to play. Set up a day--night and get some frags in. I've got shorty helping install a mapvote program, so you can pick map+game at end of each game. Hope to get in there and play more myself after I get done studying for tests I'm going for. If you have any special maps you would like on the server--let me know.
