Nice write up and a neat idea. I sometimes think we have had a 'golden age' with games. Most newer games seem to strive for award winning graphics at the cost of gameplay, IE, Doom 3. Some older games were somehow more interesting and played for months. One I still go back to now and again is Shadowman. An incredible story involving collecting 'Dark souls' and opening shadow gates which open new areas and allow Shadowman to gain new powers, it's like throwing a stone in a pond and watching the ripples get bigger and bigger and the twist at the end is genius.

Psychonauts is now available on Steam for $20. Not cheap, but not too bad either, considering that you'll get one of the best PC games ever made :D

You cannot go wrong for $5 + cheap shipping. This game is worth way more than this.
