Whatcha think? Of Course, anyone's free to use it, although I don't know for what, as long as they leave a comment.

C4D = Cinema 4D.

It's really shiney... my critique is that you should tweak some of the antialiasing in the scene, I dunno if you can, but maybe supersampling so that the reflections look more perfect instead of jagged.

I'm making a short movie clip for the site we're making for THinkQuest. It's an intro with 2000 frames. I think I'll import it to flash and make the "Enter Flash" and "Enter HTML" buttons with a bit of alpha on it.

Learn how to use caustics in C4D, it will enhance your images with glass ten fold.

Wow, Caustics take forever to render...

My second render. It's a bit low quality, because I couldn't use the external renderer, because it's been rendering the 2000 frame movie since 12:00 PM Eastern. I got the idea for doing this (http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/count/36767/simple_splash_model_a_water_drop_splash_scene_in_c4d/) one from this tutorial, but I used a different technique.

Okay, after spending all day rendering this movie, it turned out amazing, but the size is HUGE. It's about a minute long, and it's 175 MB. I want to use it ast the intro to our site, but at that size, well...

PS, compression is your friend.

Yea, but even if I compress this, it'll still be a minimum of 100 MB, which for 1 minute is still huge. A minute should be in the range of 10 to 50 MB tops.

...What kind of compression are you using to make 175mb go to 100mb at "A minimum?" That's horrendous.

Even the easy compression schema like DiVX and XViD are ~5:1.

Oh, I didn't try compressing yet. I was just guessing. What's a good compression program?

Caustics do take longer to render (Specifically in C4D) but you can optimize them a lot. Also, you can turn things down like reflection depth off of high default numbers to produce faster render times.

My last render for the day. It's big, so I'm hosting it. Have fun!

You can use Flash to compress... that or Quicktime Pro are my first choices since it's for your site.

New one. Needs more Anti-Aliasing, but I like it. That's with surface and volume caustics. Render time about 1 minute.
