View Full Version : Updating to 3.25?
Hey gang, I'm still runnin the 3.24 ver, and I want to update to the 3.25 ver. Do I just uninstall the 3.24 and then install the 3.25. I didn't read all the folding threads but I did read a lot of them and didn't see anything on updating the folding program. Thnx in advance folding friends.

...download the 3.25, put it in your Folding@Home folder, fix your shortcuts (especially the one in "Startup") to point to the new version.
Fold On!

Or just save right over the old. :D

3.25 is not named the same but for the console all you have to do is replace it. For the GUI copy your FAH folder, install 3.25 over 3.24 and then copy 3.24 over EXCEPT the FAH exe file.
Thnx all, I think I have it up and running now on both machines. Checked the log files on both and they says Extra 3D Boost Now-OK. Deleted 3.24 exe and replaced with 3.25 exe, and remade shortcuts. fold-fold-fold.

Maybe I wore out my eyes today at work, but...at Stanford's download page, the lastest Windows FAH client there is 3.24. Where is the 3.25 client?
Also, are there any differences between 3.25 and 3.25 beta?

Its on the beta page at the bottom. The only thing different is that AMDs are able to run SSE with 3.25 but they wont with 3.24.

Well, I did find it. I tend to take people literally too often; so I had looked for 3.25. 3.25 beta is available (already running it), but 3.25 final is not released. That was my confusion. And yes, 3.25 beta will initiate 3DNow and SSE with AMD setups. Yes, I've seen both SSE and 3DNow invoked.

Is it just me, or does it seem like 3.25 has been "beta" for a l-o-n-g time?
Figured we'd have seen the final release by now... :fold:
