hi to all,

MY problem is that after i shut down the computer my dial-up modem doesnt connect. My temporary solution for this problem is to remove my modem in the modem list, and reinstall its driver. This solves the problem temporarily. BUT ,again, after i shutdown my computer and turn it on and start dialing my modem it only reports an error message saying that: The modem (or the device attched) reports an error ..( if i am not mistaken).

ANyone knows how to solve this problem? Does my computer have a virus that destroys my modem driver everytime i shut it down?

I've used McAfee Internet Suite (updated) but did not found any virus or adwares. I've also used spyware doctor to effectively locate a spywares and adwares, but found only 1 adware and has been cleaned. But that does not solve my problem.

I've experience this kind of problem before and my only solution is to reformat my Drive C. But now, i dont want to reformat that drive.

Please help me.........

And by the way, my modem is: DU-562M D-Link
And my OS is : WinXP SE SP2
