Hello peoples. Hope you are all doing well and had a great Labor Day weekend.

While snooping around my pc this morning I noticed two Windows services I am unfamiliar with. Both are visible using msconfig. They are named FIKGCX and VHYN. The Mfg's for both are listed as unknown, and both are currently listed as stopped. I have google'd both items and found absolutely nothing. I don't necessarily think they are something malicious, I just like to stay on top of everything running on my box. If anyone knows anything about these services, please share. Thanks to all.

J, are you sure you have those two services listed exactly as you see them?

I ask cuz I can't find ANYTHING on either of them.

That's exactly as it's listed in msconfig. I have several other apps that list start-up items and none of them show FIKGCX or VHYN. Like I said, both were listed as stopped. I went ahead and disabled them also. However, I thought it very strange that I could find absolutely nothing at all about either on Google.

Anyways Chris, hope you had a great vacation.:smiles:

When I said "start-up items" in the above post I actually meant services.

I think I may have figured it out. As I said before, I disabled the services using msconfig. Well, they must be part of Window Blinds because after I rebooted, my taskbar had returned to the original windoze style. I was also unable to change it using the Window Blinds control panel. I enabled the two services in question, rebooted and voila! my taskbar was back to normal.
