They only got slightly different specs, the big one being the ram (256VS512) and cathegory (GS vs GT). With the most expansive one, could I expect good graphical settings while running FEAR for example?

I imagine the biggest difference between them is like you say; the amount of memory on the cards. From what I know, the 512 MB card will allow the card to handle bigger texture files onboard, which should improve speeds with the newer games. BTW, all the cards in your link are GS cards; I didn't see a GT card listed.

Also the cheapest card listed does not support HDTV it only has a TV out. You should see great performance in FEAR... not to sure as I have never owned a 7600GS. But benchmarks show it to be a solid performer :)

How about an X1950 Pro AGP (http://www.powercolor.com/global/main_product_detail.asp?id=137), AGP isn't quite dead yet?

Yep, I've been thinking of that in the near future for my Epox rig. Even if it's a backup machine by then I can still use the sucker to fold with too. :D

with people still buying AGP I don't think it will ever be dead "all the way" I mean PCI is still found, maybe not in high range models but they are there.

Or you can keep an eye out for a good deal on a 7800gs :) (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51334)

DVI -> HDMI converters exist, so they both can output to a hdtv.

Very True... So I guess if you want to drop more cash and if your TV supports HDMI than you can go this route.

Thank you Sledge, I had just placed the order for X1950Pro. I have not noticed the card you pointed out before, and it looks like a good opportunity too.
