Looks like I found my new science project.

We made that stuff in chem, it actually is like a paste when you first make it, and then when it dries out is when it gets so sensitive to light, shock, temperature, hell, it will go off if you look at it wrong.

My teacher was kind of like me and just like seeing big explosions, so he pu 100grams of that stuff outside, and we just set there and watched it. and finally, it went, and it was a lot bigger than what he though it would be. We video taped it, and it was pretty cool, we also videotaped thermite, which is my favorite reaction.

Its not to hard to make, assuming you can get ahold of the chemicals. I forget what type of reaction it is that creates it. Its been a year ago. Aha, I remembered, sort of... soak some iodide crystals in a strong amonia solution. it is a single replacement, the N from the ammonia goes over to the Iodide. anyway. I dont think there are any more precautions while it is wet, just when it gets dry.

So, how do you handle something like that..and how did they get it on those coffee filters?

In liquid form it's more stable to handle.
