Hi welsh101! Welcome to Short-Media. If I understand you correctly you can access the internet but with a little trouble. Please follow the instructions below so we can get a Hijack This log:
Click here (http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTSetup.exe) to download HJTsetup.exe. Save it to your Desktop!
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Copy and paste the log here
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
:)

Yuck.
:D
But we'll get you clean.
First click Start-->Run
In the run box type appwiz.cpl then press enter
A window will open showing installed programs. Please look for the following program:
New.Net or Newdotnet
If found please click the remove button.
Next follow the below instructions:
Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/combofix.exe)
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it willproduce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

I want you to move the combofix.exe file from this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\x x x Ionz x x x\My Documents\combofix.exe
To your desktop. Then run the file again to see if the same errors come up. If they do, don't worry, I have many tools in the old toolbox. Post back with the log from combofix and a fresh Hijack This log.

OK. We need to unhook that Look2Me infection first. We'll forget about using combofix for now since it's looking for more than one thing. Please try this:
Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=7) to your desktop.
Close all windows before continuing.
Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
Your computer will then shutdown.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.
If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.

Don't give up Welsh. I have the feeling that you might give up too easily. Can you tell me what other file was deleted when trying to run Look2Me Destroyer?
I think we need to run a comprehensive program to clear out some of the malware that's interfering with our scans. Once we can get a handle on that we can take care of the rest. I've not lost a client here yet and I don't intend to now. Follow the below instructions exactly as described. You might want to print them as you will not have access to the internet for part of this fix.
Download ATF cleaner from here. (http://www.atribune.org/content/view/19/2/)
Locate ATF Cleaner.exe and open it.
Under Main select the following:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Cookies
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache
*The other boxes are optional*
Then click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Next,
Please download AVG Anti-Spyware from my signature below. It is a free trial of the software. Save the install file to your desktop.
Install AVG by double clicking the installer.
Follow the prompts. Make sure that Launch AVG is checked.
On the main screen under Your Computer's security.
Click on Change state next to Resident shield. It should now change to inactive.
Next to Last Update, click on Update now. (You will need an active internet connection to perform this)
Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
Note: If the Update now option is grayed out, follow the steps below.
Click on Update on the toolbar.
Under Manual update, click on the Start Update button.
Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
Right-click the AVG Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update AVG.
AVG manual updates (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/).
Download the Full database to your Desktop or to your usual Download Folder and install it by double clicking the file. Make sure that AVG is closed before installing the update.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
Login on your usual account.
______________________________
Close ALL open Windows / Programs / Folders. Please start AVG and run a full scan.
Click on Scanner on the toolbar.
Click on the Settings tab.
Under How to act?
Click on Recommended Action and choose Quarantine from the popup menu.
Under How to scan?
All checkboxes should be ticked.
Under Possibly unwanted software:
All checkboxes should be ticked.

Under What to scan?
Select Scan every file.
Click on the Scan tab.
Click on Complete System Scan to start the scan process.
Let the program scan the machine.
When the scan has finished, follow the instructions below.
IMPORTANT : Don't click on the "Save Scan Report" button before you did hit the "Apply all Actions" button.

When done, click the Save Scan Report button.(4)
Click the Save Report as button.
Save the report to your Desktop.
Right-click the AVG Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.
Reboot in Normal Mode.
Please post the AVG Log and a fresh Hijack This log in your next reply.
If any of this fails we will try to manually kill some of the malware before performing the scans. I should also caution you against using this PC to surf the internet until we get it clean. You can use it to visit here to receive instructions from me but only that for now, please. This may also take some time and require several posts. Please be patient while I work to help you. Some of this has to be dealt with one infection at a time.

Can you tell me how many accounts are on this machine and who has administrator priveleges? And do you know why the account with admin privileges doesn't work? What does it do when you try to log in to the admin account.
While you ponder those questions let's try this. Go to Start--->Control Panel--->User Accounts. You should see a window showing all accounts including a guest account. Find your account and click it. Then click change account type. At the top it will say whether the account is limited or administrator. If you are limited try to make yourself administrator by clicking the radio button that says Computer administrator and then click the button that says change account type. If this works, and it is a long shot, you'll be able to download the neccessary programs for us to use. Otherwise I'll need to think of a way around this. Please let me know what you find out as well as the answers to the above questions.

There are 3 accounts. I think Evans is the administrator. Everytime i try to log into the 2 other accounts includin Evans it logs in and has a blank screen with no icons or anything, the only way i can get off is to restart comp. The only account it shows in user accounts(control panel) is the one i am using now. It says limited user. thanks again lol

OK. I'm going to get some advice from another one of the volunteers here to see how we should proceed. Give me a while and I'll get back with you.
