I'll keep my review short and to the point.
See this movie. James Bond fan or no James Bond fan, it is a phenomenal movie.

Is he Pierce Brosnan cool, or Sean Connery cool? Looks like a flick for the weekend.

Cool enough to see in the theater or is it one for Netflix? The previews look promising, I like the new bond look.

I know I'm gonna get laughed at, but what's Sean Connery cool? Never really seen any of his James Bond movies. I did love Pierce Brosnan as Bond. I've seen the trailers for Casino Royale but I'm hoping it's not a full fledged action movie nor a Mission Impossible.

supposedly they made him more badass, and less rico suave (than Brosnan).
Interesting. That's what previews suggested.

He's as ice cool as Connery and as tough as Jason Bourne (Bourne Supremacy)

I did enjoy Brosnan as Bond, but he got the role too late.. Glad they put some young blood into Bonds shoes...

I saw it last night, and enjoyed it very much.
The movie makes fun of itself on numerous occasions, almost trying to separate itself from previous Brosnan bonds, IMO. For instance, after doing rather poorly on a hand of poker Bond walks up to the bartender, orders, and after being asked if he'd like his martini shaken or stirred Bond responds "Do I look like I give a damn?"
I enjoyed it very much; I prefer a nitty-gritty agent, with less pretty-boy to him. This Bond delivered in that aspect.

I'm with NiGHTS. It's a great movie that's a blast to watch. I do hope that as these new films come out, Bond gains some of that suave edge back. Not pretty-boy, but more distinguished. I'd hate for him to become just another action hero.

Yeah, after seeing this, it's pretty easy to see why they needed Brosnan to be done and get a new actor. They went a whole different direction.
Like Buddy, I hope they edge him back in the smooth direction, as I'm sure they will, but it was a rather refreshing take.
Wait... the bad guy doesn't have a giant laser? No ice palace? No giant space station? He just... bet on the stock market?? Oddly satisfying! ;D

The spoiler isn't that he bet on the stock market... you get that in the first 10 minutes. It's WHY ;)

In that case, I may just have to go see it. :D
It's WHY ;)
Naturally, I blame myself. :mullet:

i think Sean Connery was the best James Bond...i think the ruined 007 with thie new guy...it's funny thought since this new movie is supposed to be the beggining of James Bond's epic and yet they have a much later and newer car and equipment...connery was the best...he fit the role perfectly...

He fit the role because he basically made James Bond IMHO. He's the guy everyone mimics when they mimic James Bond!
In my opinion the best bond since Goldeneye, and probably one of the top five best.
I've never seen a Bond film, and I LOVED Casino Royale. The opening credits alone made the money I paid for it worth it.
However, I'm going to find it a bit hard to watch any of the other ones becuase of the backwards nature of it all. This film, which is set in the current day, is supposed to be his first mission? That's what it seemed like to me, and now I think I'll just be disappointed in his lack of more modern-day gadgets if I see any of the other films.
Hell, I don't even know which Bond films are the "good" ones.

The ones with Connery, Brosnan, and Moore, in that order
