Router security info help

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and I would like to set up the security so I can access via hardwired computers and a laptop with maximum security since there will be info that needs to be secure on it based on health care law. I had an artical walking me through it but she recommends a WPA-PSK setting. I only have WPA, WPA2, WEP with personel or enterprise options. What is the best to use? I assume when I set up my wireless connection using a Dell wireless card/windows XP pro, I will be able to find similar settings and enter the passwords and SSID, ect?

Guidance, links to referance materials, and any info would be appreciated. I am slowly leaving the novice stages, out of necesity, but am far from fully confident with computers as of yet.

I have the same router you do. Though the versions differ a bit depending on the firmware etc. Mine has the same settings you describe. Go WPA2 if your Dell can do it. That depends a bit on the hardware and the Wireless utility you use. If you're new to this and a bit intimidated, just get the wireless connected first. Then move up to WEP, then up the ante. If your Dell won't play with WPA2 you can go back to the level that you know works.

In addition, for more security read Thrax's advice on hiding the SSID, MAC address filtering and so on. All you need to know about your router is on the Linksys site. And while you're there, download the latest firmware for your router and update it.

Cool, thanks for the link. Now I will play with it and see how it goes. That link cleared up the PSK question too.
