View Full Version : Firefox launches a small window

This is a fairly minor problem, but an annoying one. I know most programs should just launch a window the same size as when it was last closed, but Firefox isn't doing that (on my computer). Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.
Any suggestions? Like I said, it's a minor problem - not enough to make me go back to IE.

You can set the shortcut so that it runs maximized. If that's not satisfactory, then I'd try reinstalling it. :)

reinstalling doesn't help - i've gone through this before.
What I did to fix the problem was go into your mozilla profiles folder (C:\documents and settings\username\application data\mozilla\profiles\#RANDOMSTRING#\ and backup your bookmarks.html file... Then, whack the whole profile folder (the #RANDOMSTRING# folder).
Restart firefox, you are back to square one. You'll have to reinstall your themes and copy your bookmarks back, but it's no big deal.
Sometimes those profiles just get corrupted somehow. I don't know why.

I wasn't sure what you meant when you said "whack the whole profile folder" so I deleted the whole thing... Firefox refused to start after that but I didn't empty my recycle bin yet. I restored it, then deleted the folder's contents and then like you said i had to get my bookmarks back. BUT! It fixed the problem.
Thanks Prime, and prof for replying!
