documents keep scrolling uncontrollably

Hi guys,
I have a problem - whenever I open emails or documents and move the mouse pointer over the writing the whole documents starts to jump up and down scrolling from top to bottom uncontrollably. It only stops when I move the mouse away from the document.

This happenned to me a while ago and I fixed it - But I cant remember how I did :(

Please can anyone help me with this??

Is it possible that your middle/wheel is in the clicked on position on your mouse?
Have had this myself in the past.

Do you install any drivers for the mouse, or just using the default Microsoft drivers? If Kentigern's solution doesn't work, uninstall the mouse and reboot your machine. You can also go into Control Panel, click on the mouse icon, and reset all settings to default. See what happens. If it's a hardware problem with the mouse itself, do you have another mouse that you can test on your computer?
