Vbulletin has a setting to allow animated avatars....it depends on whether the boys here have it allowed or disallowed (I think) :)

It's allowed (see Clutch's av). Not sure why yours isn't going.

As an experiment I tried saving a copy of your avatar it would only save as a jpg or bmp - so i tried the same with clutch's it would allow gif

Could your file extension be a jpg

His is definitely GIF, just not sure why it's not animated.

The file name comes out to avatar22305_2.gif.jpg when I try to save it. Is there an extraneous .jpg extension being added somehow?

Mine doesn't move neither, it ends as a gif.

When I view the image it's in gif format(non-movie), when I save it it's trying to save as avatar22305_2.gif.jpg If only I had my laptop with photoshop/imageready I'd tell me you more.

I think it was too big, 290 x 226 pixels. So I resized it down to 100 x 78 and used it as my avatar. Seems to be working. You can download the image at http://www.planetfortress.com/tfa/stuff/dogdragon.gif or use the one below.
