So far 14 people are dead, I hope we do not have any members in the areas that were hit.

For only two cyclones, it sounds like the damage really isn't that bad (all things considered). I'd guess that the casualites are high in this case because, if I remember right, Florida doesn't have tornado sirens and most people would have been asleep when the storm hit. Hope all the Short Medians down there made it through okay.

Wow! Didn't even know that happened. I used to live in Lady Lake. That's kinda scary. I hope no others were injured/killed.

Our Weather warning monitor has been going off all morning!
So far, Most of this is just north of us.
Wife & I have family in the path of destruction, but they were spared from any damage. We called all our relatives in the area.
There's actually more than one area hit.
But the worst hit had a 20 sq. mile area devastated.
The edge of the front is just getting close to our area now.
We're waiting for it to go through our area in the next few mins to hrs.
Depending on how fast it moves.

I'm on the southside of town so it missed me by a few miles. Storms were bad though. A really rough night. I luckily was up at 4AM watching the news.

They tracked a twister that went from Disney, acrossed us and out through Cocoa, but it never came down to the ground Thank goodness.

All my friends have checked in, but it is really worse than it looks this time.

I heard that CrazyJoe was fine through Ghoosdum this morning.

I just got a call from Joe, he says that it was pretty bad, but noone in his neighborhood was hurt.

All the trees around their apartment buildings were torn out of the soil, and one of them went through an outside wall. Otherwise, they're just missing a bunch of shingles, and he said every surface of his car is covered in little dents now.

The Middle school (where Joe works) lost part of a roof, and was closed for the day, but they say it should be open for Monday. He couldn't go anywhere anyway, however, because a power line was down across the entrance to his neighborhood and the police blocked it off.

He called because he doesn't have internet and he wants me to take his turns in the Civ4 games that we both play in...

Sorry for not answering right back.
I wasn't online the rest of the day because I was watching weather and news..
And wasn't on yesterday because I worked on getting my brothers pc up and running from 9am to 10.00pm.
We we're very lucky the front had some severe weather pass just north of us and we are ok here. It kind of stalled over us and it's been raining on and off two days now.
But, Thank God, No more tornadoes for now.
20 found dead as of this morning. --Sun 2/4/07

Thnx K,
Wife and I are fine and families are all ok too.
Most of the damage stayed to the north of us.
It's going to be a few weeks before they get it all cleaned up. I'm sure.
We ask all S-M members to keep all the effected people in their prayers for healing and recovery.

Sure will Hawk ...and glad to hear all you guys out there in FL are checking in ok. Is everyone accounted for yet?
As far as a few weeks ...don't count on it. Not everyone anyway. Disasters such as this horribly affect quite a few people in many ways. Some never recover.
