View Full Version : No disease?

So I am curious, what if there was no disease's, no cancers, and no virus's? What would happen to our population? If the population explodes, would this cause a shortage of food? I would think so at first, but then realizing my own question, food would also have an explosion of it's own. It would be able to farm a lot easier, more yield. But would that be enough do you think?

I think in the next hundred years we will be able to tackle most modern day problems, but how will we fix these future ones? Immortality is nice and all, but not when the human race is already breeding like bunnies and the world gets smaller and smaller.

and...... GO!

We would be in for a culture shock that is for sure. Disease sucks and no one wants to die, but if everyone lived to the ripe old age of say 105 our population would just go through the roof.

Disease helps curve the population growth, although right now the curve is growing so fast nothing seems to be slowing it down. The main issue right now is immigration. If it isn't stopped/slowed down/controlled/whatever our country is going to bloat. It is getting out of control. See the graph
http://www.environmentwriter.org/graphics/images/graph1.gif

~420 million is the projected population by 2050, and almost 600 mil for 2100. Makes our current population of ~300mil look quite spacious.

Since we've just beat the world speed record of going off topic, I love your signature shwaip!

That graph is completely ridiculous and really poorly done.

This is the same reason that we control the deer and animal populations.

The graph may suck but the statistics and predictions are true. Why do you think immigration is such a hot issue right now? Because its out of control. :ninja:

edit: living in south texas I would know heh

Because its out of control. :ninja:
Yes, clearly it's that simple. That's why everyone agrees on it. I'm also sure that Mr. "Coalition Against Immigration"'s numbers are completely factual and in no way slanted to argue his case. :range:

Sweet Zeus's thunderbolts we went political in less than two hours. Nice.

...aaaaaaand we're closed. Sorry RWB. :o
