It has been reported that there appears to be some un-expected problems occurring when running Mandrake's Linux OS version 9.2 on a system contained some Goldstar (LG) CD-ROMs.
But the real question is whether it's the software or the hardware at fault – so we guess LG has to battle it out with the software vendors.

Mandrake says that LG doesn't either support or test with Linux operating systems – a strange omission on the Korean hardware firm's behalf, we'd suggest.

It clearly warns that you should not install Mandrake Linux 9.2 on any PC containing an LG CD-ROM drive or it will damage your CD-ROM drive.
