Yes. The Duct Tape Challenege will return for 2007's LAN party. We're already tossing around the ideas for what the challenge will be.
Can someone from the planning committe give me the details on how to fit this in? I know that the schedule will be very tight this year with everything going on. I'm estimating we'll need about 3 hours, because that's about how long it took last year.
Also, if you're interested in participating this year, post here. You can form teams in advance or at the event, but I'd like to stick to teams of 3 people again.

I'll participate. Is the same bribe as last time OK? :vimp:

If you want to try the same bribe you sure can, but you lost last time, so...

Fine, I'll double it this year.
Assuming it fits into the gaming schedule... I'm in.

Okay then, but only if your entry can double as a feedbag again.

That was brilliant, wasn't it? Sure saves time - I can eat my breakfast in the car on your way to work and still keep both hands on the wheel.
I still have my bucket, by the way. :D
Bucket? ... I thought it was a hat that doubled as a feedbag ;)

It's quite versatile. Kind of like the Swiss Army Knife of duct tape construction. :D

At this point, it doesn't appear that we will have the time for this event. Any suggestions?
I purposely left all the mornings available and all of Sunday available. I'm still eager to clear my name after last years (belly) flop.

:( The duct tape challenge was very popular last year.. Why do you think we don't have time?

For some reason, the timeframe seems compressed to me this year. Perhaps we can get something going on Sunday before there is a mass exodus.
Honestly, I'm not very optimistic about the mornings. Last year it was difficult to get everyone awake and moving before 10, and difficult to get everyone back from breakfast at the pancake house before 1 or 2 PM. (I thought that was the reason the gaming schedule didn't start until after noon each day ;))
I definitely still want to do this if we can fit it in timewise, and CB and I are still mulling over ideas for what to build... And it would be pure bonus if it can double as a beer cooler again...
I actually had a blast, specially the testing and awards section!!! :D

Most people are leaving later and arriving earlier this year, so I expect there will actually be a little more time. :)
I hope we find room for this. Definitely looking forward to testing out my engineering skillz :D
My team had two engineers and one manager-to-be.... be came in last. We over thought it the project and failed to complete the design and manufacturing phases.... :(
We were just thinking about last time... any event that had been planned for morning (other than eating, of course) seriously suffered for participation...
Maybe a designated wake-up time is in order ;)

Mornings are.....
so difficult for me :(
Mornings are.....
so difficult for me :(Is that because of the coyote syndrom? You know, wake up with something resting on your arm and you'd rather bite your arm off than wake "it" up?

Okay, if I bump Q's tournament #3 to 11:00 am on saturday instead of 1:00 pm, we can fit in the duct tape contest on saturday at 1:00 pm
Rob, Look at the calendar and let me know if this is okay with you and Q.
Take a look at the Gaming schedule now... is that better?
