I popped it in and.. waaa...
this stinking motherboard won't go over 100 cpu clock speed, or it won't boot. :werr:

Mobo- biostar M7VIK KM400-8237

So, the tbred is running below stock speed atm, but a least I'm running F@H on 3.25 beta with SSE, instead of 3.24 on 3Dnow.

This means a new mobo is in the works.

I'll check it out Mack. :) That may be it.

Whaaa? Is that a 400 chipset board and it wont get over 100 fsb?
Is there any jumpers on that board that set the default fsb to 133? Start with that.

Edit**// Check jumper JCLK 1. Change that to 133 instead.

That would be it! TYVM :)

This board has the clock speed jumper set way to the top right, and it was set to 100 fsb as default.

I'm going to run it at stock for awhile and see how it goes.

You are very welcome :)

Run it at stock 100 fsb? No reason for that at all. Flip the switch and reset cmos and you have "real" stock speed. Or did you mean "stock" as 133?

awhile, let's see, in BDR terms that means about 1/4 of a wu and then it is OC time.
I have a 2600 in the shipping box that I haven't been able to get running yet. I am looking forward to it.

Stock at 133 for now, until I make sure thermal paste and heatsink is on there ok.

I'll probably have a go at overclocking it on Sunday. :)

edit.. or maybe today.. just for edcentric. ;)

For once, i wished that Abit could have a switch like that so that i wouldn´t have to mod cpu´s or closing pins at the back of the mobo to get some performance out of it.

Doesn't work like you think it does mack.

It only tells the board if it's look at a 100MHz chip, or a 133/166/200. It doesn't actually set default FSBs.

I see Thrax. Wishful thinking maybe.
