I had to pick the cheapest flight I could find... If I flew in on Friday the cost was almost 40% more... very stupid pricing... from last night to this after noon the prices went up... I had a flight dialed in at $512 and the next day not even 7 hours later it was $570.

If I was able to fly out on a Monday or weekday for arrival and departure costs would have dropped to the $380... But I have to be at work on Monday.

Here's how it works: You want to fly from Pittsburgh to Charlotte, but direct flights cost $940. Book a $425.30 flight to Miami that stops in Charlotte and get off the plane there. It's not illegal, but it's a money-losing move that the airlines strongly discourage.

I tired that... flights from California are dumb and land no where close :( there was one but it inlcuded jumping 3 planes and having a 20 minute window on one... not a risk I am willing to take :)

Not to mention that only works if you check no luggage. Your luggage would be checked through to Miami and would not be taken off the Charlotte plane and put on the baggage carousel, it would go to Miami and be offloaded :eek::(

I used to do that to get to Orlando... The flights out of Columbus were almost half the price as the flights from Cincy, however the flight from Colombus stopped in Cincy, and infact the flight you payed for from Cincy was the actual second leg of that flight... You could pay for the flight from Colombus, then go to the terminal at Cincy, and get on the plane there. That was when they used to give seperate tickets for each leg of the flight. Those shenanigans wont work today...

You will have to come out of the secure area and probably outside. Parking at DTW isn't cheap and to pay to park just to pickup arrivals is not cost effective.

I didn't pick anyone up last year, just dropped them off, so not sure how Prime worked it.
If we can get 2 people to go, then one can drive the car around while the other goes in to find the guys
