Not sure what the problem is yet but SM7 is only turning in 33 points per day. Had an early unit end unit last week for some reason and now working on a p2542 project that's taking about 1 hour 15 mins per frame.
That's over 5 days for 206 points.
A brief look at the log shows that advmethods is on and 3D boost is on so I'm not sure why this unit is so slow.
Perhaps when this unit finishes, I'll delete the whole lot and start again.

There have been a few WU's lately which are murder on anything less than a top of the line machine. I'd keep an eye on the EUE business, but take the rest as just one of those things... :)

Whats the spec on the SM7 rig? maybe some UK based folk might have some bits and pieces to help it along.

I'm with Spike- what's in it? Errr, could it be overheat? Sometimes the board will reset the system bus to minimum speed if there was a problem. You might check your BIOS.

SM7 - is that only with 512MB RAM? The newer work units devour a whole more RAM than used to be the case.

Good point Q, I'll have a look after work. I think default is 100MHz and it should be at 133MHz.
Leo, I'm not even sure SM7's got 512 :o Again I'll check it out this evening.

Good good if it's SDRAM I have a few sticks about mostly 128MB and maybe some 256MB as well, not checked all but 1st 2 are PC100.

PC100 speed vs 133 won't make much of a difference, but the quantity will.

Well if the ram is any good consider it donated, might be worth checking what ram density the MObo can handle as some of the old ones didn't like double sided sdram.:smiles:

Dammit! thanks for the heads up Sledge, posted my last PC2700 ram to one of my home team the other week.
Hi folks,
thanks for the thoughts on the memory.
SM7 is now back to normal speed having digested that awful protein. Hope not to get another of those.
Thanks, Crypto.
