View Full Version : Erasing DS data.
Is there anyway to manually erase save data from a DS card?
I've bought a used DS game, and all the save slots are already taken up with another persons games (and the names in the save slots are all dirty words). However this game (Dig Dug: Digging Strike) seems to have no 'Erase data' selection anywhere.
Put in the game where the dirty worded save games are, delete, change games, and TaDaa!
I'm not sure I understand. Where is the delete option? Is there one somewhere in the DS root UI?

I don't think there's anything you can do about that from the DS' UI. I bet it's probably a key combination when you're starting the game or something...I'll do a quick search.
Haven't found anything :-/ Is there any option to start a new game? Maybe you can just overwrite them or something. Try holding down different buttons (probably start) when you start up the game or at the title screen.

It'd probably be more complicated than just the Start button, actually. Something like the four face buttons, along with the shoulder buttons. I think I had a game once that required such a complicated key combo to erase the game data. No guarantees it'll work on this game, though.
There's no options screen that allows you to delete the data? It doesn't give you the option when you select the game from the main menu? If the game came with an instruction manual, did you read through it?
I read through the instructions. It basically says: Choose a game slot. If there is no name yet, put in your name. Then it does not mention the game slots ever again.
The only option is which game slot to play in. The settings screen only contains sound settings.

I've searched around too (the first site that popped up on Google was this thread) and found a few other forums asking the same question, but without an answer... Sorry CB...
