Penny-Arcade's Tycho Brahe referred to this game (http://www.hellgatelondon.com/) in today's newspost as "the futuristic sequel to Diablo".
I got very excited about it when I read that ( I love the 'Diablo' franchise, and I've been pining for 'Diablo III' for years), and went right to the website to find out more about it. The website does not mention Blizzard or Diablo anywhwere, so I thought maybe he just meant that it's a futuristic game in the 'party-based dungeon crawl' genre, which would still be cool.
So, I went to look at some of the screen shots, and game-play videos, and it looks like an over-the-shoulder FPS. There was no party of characters, no holding down the mouse button on the monster, no isometric view-point... Nothing about the game seems to indicate diablo-esk game-play at all!
It actually just looks like a 'bloodrayne' style game with some RPG elements.
Usually Tycho makes good and sound observations about video games and the industry, but this time I'm just confused... Am I missing something?
