This is a long video but you don't have to watch to whole thing to get the idea. Simply hilarious ...but seems so natural to us cajuns.
Take a peek here.

Love it.
Especially when the driver of the boat gets whacked in the face breaking his sunglasses.
The look on his face was priceless.

Did the guy at the end say they were catching tarpon? I still haven't figured out what species that is and my hearing isn't so great anymore.
Glad you liked it Hawk!

Did the guy at the end say they were catching tarpon? No, he said "carp." Didn't look like carp to me, but then, the video was a bit grainy, but the action shots were fantastic.
I've just got to do that some day! No, and fried carp is not all that bad. Those guys will definitely have freezers full.
Great video. Thanks.
OMFG! I never seen fish jumping like that before, I'm definitely gonna have to show my brother this! That looks like a load of fun.

Those are not carp. I'm no expert, but I know that those aren't carp.
//edit: Okay, they are apparently Asian Silver Carp. I amend my original statement to say "I'm no expert, but I know that those aren't domestic carp."

they are apparently Asian Silver CarpIf you say it, Prime, I've no doubt you are correct, but how did you find out? I watched the whole video twice, trying my darnedest (in between wide-eyed laughter) to figure what kind of fish those were. At the end, one of the bowfishers said "carp." Not like any carp I've ever seen.
Flying kung fu bad attitude spiderman carp!

Fish move their fins from left to right.
Mammals move their fins up and down.
Orca...whales...humans...all mammals, we all swim alike.
I've been by there store!!!! My cousin use to live in Peoria and worked at the Caterpillar Plant. I'll have to take a look at this sometime!!! :D

I saw something similar in another video. It wasnt bowfishing but the fish were jumping out of the water like crazy. They were smaller fish but still amazing.

Well, humans can swim three ways, as we have two separate legs. Vi have the classic "spread your legs and put them together again"-method, we have the "move your legs up and down together"-method and the "move your legs up and down separately"-method.

Interesting. They get scared by the propeller and the boat, and their first reaction is to go CLOSER to the sound and out into the open? Some weird fish...

Good ol' youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLCairlW_EAWell down here and I'm sure in other places the mullet do the same thing. The ones that I've seen jumping are usually way smaller than those carp but they do get to at least around 24".

What about the frog kick ...or is it just me?:eek3: I can swim backwards too ...not many people even want or care to do that! LOL
