difficulty of splinter cell . . .

so i am about halfway through splinter cell (i think) and i have heard that it gets immensely hard towards the end of the game. it isnt too hard right now, but i was wondering if anyone could confirm its difficulty . . .

It certainly gets harder yes, just about when you meet the girl near the van and have to run on the rooftops...........
