i have an asus A7M266, can i run an athlon mp on this board. do mps run on most boards that support xps

Most run but not all. But why? no advantage really.

friend has a couple of mp1200+'s he is selling for 30$. I have a Iwill KA266 Plus and a Asus A7M266 just wanted a couple of cheap processors to pop on them

Tge A7M266 will certainly need a bios revision. I had one that needed the update just to run an XP1600. After that all should be well! You will need to do the same with the KA266 Plus.
