WWW ok, but cannot get to LAN PC's!

Hola,

I have a DSL modem, and Linksys 41 router and a Linksys WAP.

With the network I have 3 PC's running on the network, 1 @ 2000 Pro and 2 @ XP PRO.

All have access to the WWW through the router / DSL modem.

But cannot see the XP machines on LAN network. the 2K machine can see one, but not the other. Cannot map drives to any.

IP addresses for each NIC on the XP PC's are set on auto. All are within the DHCP "IP address" range. The DCHP table show 2 of the 3 PC's. 1 on the WAP, 1 on the PC I'm accessing the roputer from.

Tried pretty much all I can think of to try. Anything y'all can pass along would be appreciated.

I found part of my issue...the firewall was enabled on XP and my Virus program. Diasbled both.

Now can get to 2 of the PC's, but having trouble getting the one PC to Assign by DCHP the NIC IP address properly. Ran Network setup, but no luck geting the values to appear correct. Tried manual seting, but no luck there either.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have file and print sharing enabled on all computers.

Disable simple file sharing. Do this on each computer. Go to the command prompt.
ipconfig /all > c:\config.txt (you won't see any results on screen)
Open c:\config.txt

Copy and paste the results. And tell us how you are hooked up.

I found that the router went to a hub and the hub connected to the PC. This hub corrupted the IP address. When I connected the PC directly to the router the problem was resolved. The hub is a Linky EFAH05W and still do not know why it's a problem.

Probably best to eliminate that hub. I have a linksys befrs41 as my main router and the wireless router is hooked to a regular port on the Linksys acting like an access point. Once I got the wireless set up and disabled DHCP on the wireless I hooked it up like that. I could just go with the wireless router now, but at the time I had more computers hooked up the the Linksys and it suited my needs. My wireless router only had one port to hook a wired computer . Now I only have room for one desktop so I'm just being lazy leaving it like I do.
Are you still using the USB modem? Here is a router that works with USB http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2200usb.html it is the only link I have.
