Recover lost data

Help please. One of my HD's crashed and took some of the data with it. Is there some s/w out there that I can use to recover the data?

The drive is not completly dead. I'm copying folders over now. But as a feature it deleated the one folder I really wanted. When it was dying it was saying xxx folder is unreadable and poof it erased or hid it.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes there are ways, but be warned not to use any restoration means before you talked to people who knows the trade.
Do not try to recover with any programs at 1st.
If your data is really important...Do nothing at 1st....

Actually before I saw your post I found and used

File Scanvenger 2.1

Luckily it worked like a charm.
