I know that usually I disagree with movie critics. But they all say that it sucked. At least all the ones I have read. I totally loved the first one. The second one was just ok. I am getting a bad feeling that the third will be a big disappointment also.

Anyone else??

SPOILER below... highlight to view...

This is an interesting end to a trilogy. Sooo much was left unsaid but I feel the brothers want you to make your own mind on it. Most blanks and questions are filled in, all the spoilers supposedly on the web are off. Some of them are close.. but there are too many inaccuracies.

It is VERY action and alot less plot. It runs more like a really awesome action sci-fi and is even less like the first matrix movie. It's dramatic, moves at a breakneck pace.. but I can't help but feel there are some segments put in to pad out the movie. The whole merovigian segment was pointless. One fight and ya done. Neo is rescued.. with no real explanation for it. One of the weaker moments.

The first hour is a bizarre one but it's building into the latter hour & 20 minutes. Then it kicks up a gear. The focus of this movie is less on the matrix and more on Zion. The dock sequence when the sentinels come in, wow... jawdropping. That is one of the most intense moments I've seen in a movie for a long time. Really stunning.

There are some weaker points (Neos blindness is one glaring moment. He almost seems to fail no pain despite the tremendous injury ) but overall it's a great movie to watch.

Im glad it wasn't a matrix in a matrix in another world scenario. It was certainly stronger as it was. Shame to see Trinity and Neo die though. The part where she dies was tasteful and not overdone.

The story just seemed to me to lack the raw matrix feel. Too polished and it seemed more content to just tie up the story with alot of high quality effects.. and less and less thought. A shame but it depends alot of what the viewer wants out of it.

I personally thought reloaded was dissapointing in a way and I feel teh same with revolutions. I tackled revolutions with an open mind and enjoyed it for what it was.. and is..

A really top notch action sci-fi that belongs at the end of a tremendous idea and a cinematic masterpiece.. the matrix.

So my conclusion is this...

It's a fantastic action sci-fi movie. Moves along at a great pace, is a natural successor to reloaded but has elements of both matrix and reloaded. Those who hated reloaded should wait for the video/DVD. Those who loved teh first and enjoyed/loved reloaded...

Go see it.. I have my negatives.. but overall.. it was awesome to watch ;)

Agree with shorty good overall, a few parts that i thought were not so good.

Spoiler stuff below, highlight to read:

Namely the flying and fighting while having a few ok parts it seemed a little silly.

I also agree on the whole blindness/pain thing, huge injury and all we get is one scream and a bandage.

On the subject of Neo dying, are we sure he did? while he is being carried by the machine near the end, we see from his weird blind machine perspective and also have the Oracle saying she thinks it is possible they will see him in the future

The fight in the docks, while being cool was possibly a little too long and the whole Z/Other women tag team taking out the drills was a little too predictable.

Certainly enjoyed it though and would rate it highly as long as you arnt trying to be too critical about it :)

I agree with you Shorty. I was slightly disapointed in it, maybe I was expecting too much explanation that I didn't get. I like to figure things out for myself, but I also like to see a story unfold in some way, and this really didn't seem to do that.

More here

The flying was a little much IMHO. It was cool, but I thought someone may have watched a little too much Dragon Ball Z. Couple of the special effects were a bit overdone (Namely when Neo punches Smith in slo mo) and the Merovingian part was crap, I expected much more out of that character.....

i agree with you guys on many points. the movie may have had its weak moments, but overall it made me do nothing but smile the entire time. the action was SO well done and even the death scenes were so tasteful that i was amazed the whole way through. granted, neither of the movies stand up to the first one in the same way that it was great, but i dont think they were ever supposed to. this was an excellent end to a great trilogy.

to me one word sums up this movie - fantastic

Neo's blindness is taken from Dune series: Dune Messiah I believe. Neo is the Quisatch Haderak or however the hell you spell that.
The series ends implying it's a cyclical process, however this time Smith threw it for a loop with an unintended consequence of Zion being spared. at least that's my take on it
For such powerful fight scenes and philosophical ideas it ends as a let down. Sort of half assed - a hero that sort of saves some people and kills a super villain but then leaves a bigger villain in power. I was waiting for someone in Zion to say "Ok now what do we do?"

the movie...did not tickle my pickle...i was expecting MUCH more...nro getting out of the train station should have been a 2 hour movie all in itself (fights with the trainmen, and the ghosts etc).. the zion gun scene was NOICE!!! but the smith fight left me going "awww this sucks" except for the slow down parts with the water..overall..its a waste of 10 bux...reloaded was the best
