okay, someone gave me an old hp comptuer that went bonkers, so they bought a new one. the current install of win98 was screwed up real bad, so i deleted the partition with fdisk, then ran a format on it. no problems whatsoever with dos
when i try to install any os (fedora, debian, mandrake, 98, xp) i get problems that always include "kernal has gone crazy, please try again" or something along those lines. at first i thought it was just linux, but the m$ os's do it to. any thoughts on whats bad? my only though is hard drive or memory.
