Have XP Pro and was wondering if there is a way in the AUDITS part of the Global Policy Settings to audit when a user logs-in and then logs-out.

Thanks!

If you go into Control Panel > Admin Tools > Local Security Settings > Local policies > audit policy

You can set it to audit logon events.

Thanks.

Is the log file created from this setting a text file? Also does it get "created" in the root directory?

Again thank you for the insight.

It would be logged into the Event Viewer

Never used the Event Viewer. How would I get to it?

Sorry I should know.

Thanks in advance

Soz, I was gonna mention where the Event Viewer was but I was in a hurry.

It can be found in START -> CONTROL PANEL -> ADMINISTRATIVE TEWLS -> Event Viewer

You can save the log wherever you want however.
