Establish a new intranet using Share Point Server 2003 ???

Hi!

We need to establish a new intranet for one of our customers using Share Point Server 2003.
We are looking for exemplary intranet sites where we can see what are the main areas that
are commonly covered by “todays” intranets to have an idea what is the typical content
in nowadays big intranets.

I assume he wants examples of how intranets are incorporated (laid out, content, etc) into large-scale companies. Unfortunately I don't work for a large company (we don't even have an intranet), so I can't provide any examples.

Yeah, that's what I kinda figured he was getting at....but that's still a very general question. The company I admin for has about 150 empolyees 8 branches and various technologies. What works for us probably won't work for him. Also there are various ways of laying things out for ease of use verses security. So that's a factor.

Not to mention that hardware factors and software factors all play a huge function as well as the level of access you want to the users.

Plus then throw in the concept of Fat clients vs thin clients, mixed OS's it's such a huge question. There are entire courses designed on just that question and they are only covering the book pracicality of it and not the working practicality of it.

So that's kinda why I was asking "What the hell are you asking"...since such a general question is beyond the realm of any single post on a board. Hell you could devote an entire forum to the subject if you wanted.
