Never seen it before. But where abouts in the login process does it pop up? just after you login....some time there after.

Can you get a screen shot of it?

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22The+parameter+is+incorrect%22+error+laptop

Without more info I couldn't guess which result might apply... never seen the error myself, but then again, I wish I knew all the errors for all the OS and laptops in the world :p

Need to give a little more info...this is on my laptop which is running Win2000....which is not the specs on the bio...

The error pops up long after the log in....its like the last thing to come up when pc is starting....almost like an after thought....

What's funny is this thread is now #1 on that google search :)

Ok back to the error could be a configuration for some program that is loading at boot time.

I have seen similar things (though not the same) after ad/spy/virus's have been removed as there is still some procedure that is trying to run but the core of it has been removed. Not saying this is the case but you may want to go into msconfig and see if there is anything running that should be. Also check your task manager and services and look for anything immediate that looks out of place.
