If you are a contractor in Iraq that is an american can you carry a gun? since a couple contractors have been kidnapped and killed i say they should be allowed to protect themselves. I am sure a couple contractors rather die killing a few terrorist rather than be shot in the back :bringit:

Most of these "contractors" as the news calls them are mercenaries of some sort. A lot of them work for private security firms that carry and use weapons. Only truck drivers and what not who these people are paid to protect are (rightly) unarmed.

There is no doubt that people are at risk but you cant arm civilians. They don't know how or when to use weapons. That's the job of the military.

Depends what you have been contracted to do. Say if you're an engineer sent in to repair oil pipes you wont be allowed to carry a weapon. Even if your ex military or whatever.
