Got home today and my mom told me I got a check from the local community college. Well I open the envelope, and sure enough it was a check for $316.84

Now I can start my savings for all the goodies I am going to install on my baby ( my stang if your wondering ) I would buy some hardware, but I have all I need right now, so all my extra money is going to my car.

First up are some Steeda Underdrive Pulleys, then comes Either a Cold air intake or some gears. And in December Flowmaster has there new Super40's coming out, so my exhaust gets beefed up some :vimp: I'm glad I got this check, now I'm going to see what all I can add before the lan in January, should make the ride up to Detroit much better  so if your at the lan watch out on the highway for 2 guys in a red mustang,

If I were you I would just make the cold air intake myself and save some bones for a different modification. Your Stang already has the hood scoop which can be made functional rather easily. You might need to insulate the air from the hood itself if you have a steel hood, otherwise your "cold" air intake won't be so cold afterall. Hoods get rather warm. From an engineering standpoint, it might be easier to duct to the wheel well or nose. I really have no idea, I dunno where to start with those Ford engines. Sorry, Chevy man myself. Whatever you do, don't buy a bunch of stupid appearance mods before the performance mods. ;) Be a respectable psuedo-muscle-car owner and make it fast before you make it look fast. ;)

Maybe a new rear diff ratio... Or reprogram it... Or some new rubber and wheels if necessary. Dunno what all you've got done to it right now.

Hey, if you save a bunch you could get a Paxton for it. :D There you go. That's what you need.

I just got done talking to a guy on a mustang site, he said to ditch the cold air intake, so I'm going to see what he suggest to get. Right now my car is bone stock, so I'm starting with the underdrive pulleys first since I have to wait until December 1st for the new flowmasters to come out. I'm also going to get a offroad H-pipe because I don't have to pass emissions so that should ad a deeper sound to the flowmasters.

I'm so excited, I got to save some things for santa to bring me to. As far as apperance mods, I do not have any planned yet, I mean I love the way my car looks now, so I'm just going to put money into making it faster, and louder, hehe

Just run without mufflers and cats if you don't have to pass emissions, you'll be plenty loud. :D

Is the GT a true dual exhaust out of the factory? You mentioned an H pipe so I assume that it is. Again, I dunno jack about new Stangs.

Correct, all GT's come true dual exhaust out the factory. With the offroad H-pipe though I get rid of my cats though :)

I don't know too much about domestic engines. What about the possibility of turbocharging that pony? :D I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, but we'd be talking serious horsepower then.

don't know about a turbocharger

a supercharger though..mmm...

probably close to 3k for that though

Clutch

No turbo here, but as far as a supercharger it will cost me about $3,800 for a Vortec Supercharger which will lay down some serious h/p and torque, but it want be anytime soon that I get one if I get one at all.

computer tune it?

They make powerprogrammers for stangs?

Not only do you have to pay for the Supercharger, you're going to need tires more often than just daily driving :)

You COULD put a turbo on a Mustang if you really wanted to. You'll have to get someone to do custom headers if you do unless there's a kit somewhere. I've never seen one. Turbos are usually better for import engines anyway :p

Rot Katze had this to say
computer tune it?

They make powerprogrammers for stangs?

To answer my own question..yes they do

Hypertech PPIII is awesome

or a Venom 400

Both for around 300-350 bucks

Get a vortech supercharger and the steeda rear suspension setup so you can actually drive the car in something besides a strait line. Then set it up for drift and show those Nissan kids a thing or three.

The 5 Link is super keen

Power and torque lovin'!

If you go for a Cold Air Intake, make sure the system you go with pulls air from as far away from the engine as possible. Many of these "Cold Air" systems are just "High Volume" systems that intake warm/hot air. You might find a custom Cold Air Intake you can order by someone who actually owns a mustang and wants truly Cold Air, not some marketing gimmick that doesn't really intake colder air than stock intakes.

yea, I am going to look for a custome cold air intake. As far as drifting, pfftt all I need is a straight line to leave the "drifters" behind me, :)

I'd have to advise that you might want to spring for the underdrive pulleys last, as a high flow intake and Flowmaster will give you a better bang for the buck. Just make sure you reset your ECU (however the Mustang does it, my ZX2 just requires you to pull the EFI fuse for 15 minutes) when you do each upgrade.

this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441078494&category=6199) is what I'd like to get an fix up but I just don't have that kinda cash right now. Oh well.

/me drools.

Hmm... not a bad price right now though... I totally missed out on a deal on a cherry '73 Charger for $1000 a few years ago. I'm still kicking myself for that one. Take all the smog control garbage off, and it'll move... ;)

Yeah, $1K ain't bad at all. This one is already pushing $1,600 though and my new truck isn't even 5 months old yet so I still have to save some cash before dropping major bones on another vehicle.

I almost bought this (http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/6/2/58684762.htm) the other day... B-Bodies are wonderful. I love the look on a riceburner-driver's face when you blow past them in a stodgy looking car with a big block...

Sorry for the thread hijack, Clutch!

Hey give me my damn thread back *******, hehe j/k

That charger looked pretty good, although I wouldnt like to buy a vehicle off of ebay unless I could see it before I put down any money on it.

also they are having Mustang Week 2004 in Myrtle Beach, SC like 40 min from where I live, it is in july so I got a while to fix my car up before I enter it into mustang week for people to look at.
