After installing XP on a PC, there's no sound. It has onboard sound. XP refers to the following driver= CMI 8330/C3D Audio Adapter.

I have downloaded the file from Driverguide. The filename is CMEDIA.INF.
What does this file do. If I open it , I see references of the following files which I also downloaded [Very small files].
>CM8330.SYS
>CMPCI.SYS
>CM8330sb.SYS
>Wdmaud.drv
>There may be more......

Please fill me in how this stick together. Does I only needs the CMEDIA.INF ?

Thanks

This is old stuff. No such CD available. It works with Win98.

go to your device manager and find where your soundcard is listed (since its not working, it probably has an exclamation point over it). go to properties->driver->update driver->i will choose location->browse and point it to that INF file
