Okay, you've got a reasonably bad spyware infestation. You need to get rid of the following:

after you do that, run adaware 6.0 and spybot search & Destroy 1.3 with the latest definitions, and then re-run HJT and post your log again.

Okay, you've got a reasonably bad spyware infestation. You need to get rid of the following:

O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll

after you do that, run adaware 6.0 and spybot search & Destroy 1.3 with the latest definitions, and then re-run HJT and post your log again.

Are you sure about this one? I do have NAV 2004 PRO.

It's usually in the User run key in the registry.

you people need to stop using IE and you won't have these stupid problems anymore. i know it doesn't work with 2% of sites out there, but you should really switch to firefox and use IE only when absolutely necessary.

XP AntiSpy (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Popup-Ad-Spyware-Blockers/XPAntispy.shtml) - You can set it to take no action, disable autostart, or remove it completely. Your choice.... Oh, And thnx prime for helpin out with the HJT logs.
I'm not up on all that has to be removed, so I don't advise on them. I'm studying them though. Maybe in the future I'll be able to advise on them, but not now.

Hi, I just joined. Besides that I'm trying to figure out how the hell this spyware cannot DIE. How did you do the log? I am not able to delete some files and I have THE ABOUT BLANK garbarge which as I mentioned will NOT DIE. You delete the HOmesp..whatever and go into alll the registries but it will become ANOTHER file, so I don't know which dll file is the evil one, which is why I want to KILL it. But it won't DIE! Please help>. What I have done is tried to find out what files are associated with this ABOUT BLANK, which is a combination of the Trojan Spooner A. Once I go into my registry files and delete the Search Assistant that it is under, some files have said that they cannot be 'deleted' even if they are in my temporary files. What I have accomplished is going into my 'safe mode' and deleting the 'bad' dll. Files associated with this ABOUT BLANK...however some files just keep coming back. And some say they have 'writer protection' and 'cannot be deleted'. It's taking a fair bit of time and I am not succesfull. I have spy sweeper and this about blank, seems to halt it's ability to completely get rid of it, it quarantines the spyware however they are able to come back!
