Looking for something odd. Firewall related [Archive]

Well i gave up on software firewalls years ago and have been using strictly hardware for awhile now but im getting seriously tired of having to google through pages of fodder to find out what ports certain programs use for things. IE, searching around to find out what port Trillian uses for outgoing transfers thru MSN. My question, is there any software i can use to see what ports my programs are requesting at the time they request them? The only good thing about a software firewall is the nice little popup asking if you want to grant such and such program access on port such and such.

Any ideas?
