That is my question. Reason for post is that I picked up an el cheapo 64mb ati 7000 that is supposedly better than the mx 400s and it had ddr memory. I don't seem to notice ANY performance gain compared to my stock compaq 8mb card (which doesn't even have a heatsink), infact when running the original UT the mouse lags when shifting through the menus more than before. I was hoping to atleast get it somewhat playable, even if it wasn't tolerable.
