View Full Version : "The memory could not be 'read'." AFTER CLOSING NEARLY ANYTHING
Howdy
i get an error just like this:
The instruction at "0x02da5520" referenced memory at "0x0278e600". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
after closing nearly anything.
i'll close IE, it gives the error
vegas video, error
close msn messenger, error
it's not really screwing anything up just yet, but it's awfully concerning.
anyone have any ideas?
also, the 0x02da5520 and 0x0278e600 are different every time it happens...
i'm running XP with all critial updates,
athlon xp 1900 w/1Gig Ram (all good, i've tested), 2 Maxtor 120's, GeForce ti4600
thanks in advance

your page file may be corrupted reset it and see if that helps the situation.
I had this problem w/ my old computer right before I got the new one... I think I actually reformatted because of it... but no worries. The new one came a few days later :D

run memtest86+
see if you hit any memory errors.
im thinking your ram is probably bad
if you've done that already
reformat

well I ran memtest 86+ all night when this problem first started a few weeks ago and it ran through like 15 passes with no errors, I swapped out each of my individual 3 ram sticks but that didnt help either
I definitly dont want to reformat, way to many files and custom settings for that, and especially when stuff is still working, I just want to know how to fix it, for future reference too!

i didnt do a repair install but it seems to have stopped somehow, I was foolin around with zonealarm pro 5, some lsp conflictions, ended up uninstalling netlimiter, and reinstalling a few other things, somehow it seems to be stable so far

it is netlimiter.
just do this:
install it, restart. finish install... the errors come back
then uninstall it, restart. finish uninstall, the errors are gone
:(
i wish they knew how to keep them at bay. there are no other good net limiting software packages out there :(
