what bios settings do i need to change for this to work?

my bios is updated and has 4 speed options:

Manual
1700 MHz (currently running)
2200 MHz
3400 MHz

I've tried it on all of these, but it doesn't work. On manual setting, I don't know what to set the external frequency to, can anyone help? :[

i think ur currently running at 100x17, you should be running at 200x17 (800fsb).

does your ram handle pc3200 speeds? what type of ram using? brand/speed/latency

Citrix, the 3.06 isn't a 800fsb cpu i think. It's a 533 fsb cpu. Meaning the multi is 23 and the fsb is 133. 23X133=3059.alotofnumbers.
Krondizzle, clear the cmos, load optimized defaults, save and enjoy. THEN start overclocking. If you want to have pc3200 speeds and 1:1, you need a cascade to cool the cpu as i doubt that cpu does 4600 mhz. I'm not using an Intel rig, but i think i'm right on this one.

Ok, my multiplier is x17, 3060/17=180
I set my CPU speed to manual and the External Frequency to 180/36 since it was the only option.
It starts up, but my monitor displays nothing, the power light just blinks.
Help?

Does a cmos reset work at all? That should set the parameters to what they should be.
I can't understand how the multi can be 17 when the fsb is 133 at default. Can you read on the box to the cpu which model it is? Is it a prescott cpu? In that case, you might need to update the bios on the mainboard so the prescotts work.

Ok, i have a 1.7 im currently running on, its multiplier is x17.

When I clear the CMOS and try with the 3.06 the monitor just blinks, and the bios version is the final version for the mobo, 1009, so I can't figure out for the life of me what i'm not doing right.

The only thing you can change is the fsb and the divider if needed, but you probably know that. Is there a 100/133 fsb jumper on that board? I still can't figure out how it can be a 3.06 cpu if the multi is 17. If it was a 200 fsb cpu (P4C), the total mhz would be 3400 with 17 as a multi, and if it was a 133 fsb cpu, the total mhz would be 2261 with a 17 multi. What is the exact stepping or manufacturer code of that cpu?

3060 mhz/133 fsb is the multi 23. I can't understand where the multi of 17 comes from.
That mainboard or bios must be fishy. A cmos reset should set everything to default , 23X133. To get 3060 mhz from the multi 17, you need an fsb of 180 without using any divider. Or is it me that is totally far out and totally wrong?
When you reset cmos, does the machine boot to windows at all?

No it doesn't boot to windows, the monitor doesnt even come on.

Mainboard will run a 1.7, so, its still good, im on it right now :)
