Holy S#!T car accident

Car Accidents SUCK.

I was driving down a wet one-lane road in the rain with a few friends. I noticied it seemed Rally-ish, so I eased on the gas. A turn came out of nowhere, so with an appropriate "Oh SHIT!", I slammed on the brakes.

No Antilock Brakes = Teh Suck

I Slid straight, scraped across a fence, ran over a metal pole, into another fence. Car damage?

I need a new front bumper, new side skirts, new left fender, and a new left door. Ass.

A word to the wise. DON'T EVER DRIVE LIKE A MORON. You WILL pay. $671 in my case.

Recently someone did a little more than clip my front end. In fact, that was two weekends ago. Total Damage: $6400. They won't total my car, because they valued it at $9900. They won't total until the damge = 80%+ the value of the car. So, I took the $6400 and sold the car at a salvage auction. Got $1900 there. I picked up another car for $8500 plus tax and title. I already have a tag. Subtracting towing costs, sellling costs, storage costs, and rental car, I had about $7400 to work with. The rest of the money is coming out of my pocket.

Accidents DO suck.

Bummer about the accident. I started teh accident thread you're talking about a while back. Minor fender bender ended up skyrocketing my insurance so I quit driving altogether... 'til my next B-Day in Jan... which I hope to buy a brand spanking new car.
