When was the last time it worked fine?
Problems could be a bad NIC or spyware, although spyware is more notorious these days for causing a sluggish connection.
it never did....and i have checked for spyware...... its been slow since the start....ugh
it worked fine when i had my last comp on it and i just tried a different nic so i guells there is nothing i kan do for now unless someone has any ideas

Couple things to try. First ping the router, ping someone else's machine on the network, and ping an outside address check to see if you are getting any packet loss. If you are getting any depending on where it's happening that can help to narrow down the source.
Check all your cables and make sure they are cat 5e or 6 and not just 5. Even if they are it may be a good idea to get new cables as they can often be the source of problems.
Also make sure that your card is sending at base 100 and not base 10. If the router doesn't have lights indicating the speed of the connection go into your network settings and force base 100 on at full duplex.
ok.....i was thinking maybe i t could be the cabel and the cable is cat5e gonna try forcing 100 in full deuplex mode

I've heard a lot of things with Gigabit cards being set at Auto causing problems such as yours. What you're doing is my suggestion. Let us know how it goes.
