Ok i was at walmart yesterday and found a 18' microtek for about 400 and some odd dollars.Not really knowing on what to look for Im coming to you guys for some help. IMO monitors are one of those "ya gota see it to like it" kinda thing. The price is average at best for what they call a 19". The contrast ratio is a little low compared to others that I see online. hope that helps. ;)
I'm wish I would have had the bucks for a flat panel, but I was limited to a CRT.
Thats OK cuz I think they have a wee bit better picture quality.

Seems a little on the low end. It'd probably be alright for typical use but if you want it for gaming I don't think it'll be able to handle the refresh rates and you'll see some artifacts and some other odd defects. Also 19" is damn impressive, but in a flat panel with such a crsip image you can probably go for a 17" FP save some bucks and still have a damn impressive screen size.
