I don't think I've seen a year before where so many influencial and great games have been released. What games made your list?

Mine (in no particular order)

Doom III
Half-Life 2
World of Warcraft
Far-Cry

There are plenty of others that I enjoyed, but none as memorable as those.

Half-Life 2
FarCry

Other than that been playing Dark Age of Camelot which owns all the other MMORPG's when it comes to the Player vs Player system. And.. playing Morrowind when I did not have an internet connection :D

Other than GTA San Andreas I've been quite dissapointed by pretty much everything else...

Guess I bought into all the hype and expected too much, GTA:SA is the only game I didnt do that with so might explain a bit. The delays that hit STALKER kinda ruined things too.

I personally have developed a rather low opinion of HL2, because it doesn't compare to the standards that HL1 set.

KOTOR
Need For Speed Underground 2
Juiced - Ok I've got it even though it officially may never come out
Def Jam Vendetta Fight For NY
Psi-Ops the Mindgate Conspiracy

Basically though it's been a pretty lame year. To many poor sequals and to many games with lots of hype lots of flash and no good game play.

Thank god I'm not the only one.

This reminds me of a non-PC game, I mean many games. They would be the Mario Party series for Gamecube/N64, it was great at first, ...as in #1, but now its just way too many sequels.

Agreed. To make a good sequal you have to take the things that made the original game good an improve upon them. Just a rehash of the same crap every time gets old. Same goes with developers that throw in a tone of 'extras' and leave the core game the same maybe with differnet costumes if you are lucky. The extras may be entertaining for awhile but not justification for a new full retail game.

If they are going to do that then drop the price in half and I won't be annoyed but same full retail for last years game please...they wonder why the entertainment industry is loosing money. It's not piracy, never has been it's shity movies, shity, games and shity music. Consumers become smart. We now often rent before we buy or dl more then the 1 good song they play on the radio before wasting money on a cd, etc...
