Sunday went to see Slipknot it was awesome. My list of favorite live bands is now becoming seriously bloated and I'm running out of room.

tickets were $50cdn a piece we stood in line for 2hrs in shitty weather missed the opening band the 2nd band was Unearthed. They were eh. The 3rd band was Killswitch Engage (which are excellent) however the singer blew out his throat the day before so they did 2 songs with Unearth's singer and then brought a guy out of the audience to sing the 3rd song for them. So on to Slipknot I've been to a lot of concerts and some wicked wicked shows before but they bring an amazing type of energy to the room. I've never seen a show where 75% of the arena was jumping up and down before it was incredible.

Sound wise I was expecting it to be louder (that or my hearing damage is more severe then I thought) but the sound quality was perfect nice crisp and for a band with on average 8 members on stage they are very, very tight. There stage show is very good no fancy effects beyond some lighting and smoke. But seeing there entire crew run around on stage with snare drummers marching and just maniacs it's a damn impressive site.

The show was well worth the money for them alone (which basically it was) hell I even dropped $60 on a hoody which I normally never would for any other band I've seen I was inspired. Fuck they rock.

Tool is still probably my favorite live band but 2nd place is now a serious tie between Pantera and Slipknot.

Tool .... Live == omg

I've seen them three times live. I've never been disappointed.

The first time I saw them live they were some unknown band on the small stage at Lollapalooza 93. I was in the audience of about 150. I was just blown away by them and I've been a fan ever since.

Agreed I've seen Tool live now 4 times once at lola in 94 (I think) and then 3 times at various concert halls. Every time I think is better then the last. Their stage show is also getting grander as well with the movie screens and what not.

But damn Slipknot could give them a run for their money when it comes to energy.

That works only I think I'll take a little more variety

Slipknot, Tool and KoRn. Slipknot would probably open and just becasue they are more popular KoRn would probably be the headliner. But that's about a perfect of a concert as you can get. Granted each band has to play for at least 1 1/2 hrs minimum Preferably 2.

Slipknot, Tool, KoRn, all in the same show.... that would be an awesome show.

heh, one of my friends knew them when they first started. he didn't see them all the time or anything, his dad just happened to sell them some guitar stuff and he went along. slipknot is the best thing about Iowa :D

i almost saw slipknot .... a few too many cocktails before the show and my "beer balls " grew to such immense proportions i decided to fight security guards for floor seats. Needless to say they carried me out and used my head to open the doors that they threw me through. Much deserved i might add ... oh well i stumbled back to the bar and found a hottie to nurse my wounds. Ended up being a very good night anyway :drinkup: :thumbsup:

Edit - Btw, for MFKR, is Corey Taylor the singer?

2nd cd is my least favorite over all it's more a mix of extremes some really, really good songs with some medicore ones. But even then it's still an great album by comparisson to other bands. The 3rd one now by far is my favorite the music on it is so rich the melodies are excellent and it just gets me so pumped up.

As for Mate Feed Kill Repeat, honestly I'm not sure. I assume so since the brothers are the band and do all the vocals. I think it's just the recording quality that may make it sound different.

For me... CD1 -> CD 3 -> CD2

Oh yeah, I was bored and found out that there was a different singer for the album MFKR

You'd be surprised how many Ex-Members there are...

Hmmm neat I. I'm not surprised there are a lot of ex-members but I figured the brothers were pretty much the focal point for the band.
