What are your opinions on the official cancellation of the 2004-2005 season?

Could care less. Not that I didn't enjoy watching hockey from time to time but I'm hardly a fanatic. personally it looks good on them. Bunch of spoiled asses who have gotten it in there head that they are worth multi-millions of dollars to play a fucking game. The whole there is no I in team no longer applies to professional sports as it's all about grand standing now to get the bigger better contract and make the money. If they really wanted to play so desperately take the sallary cap and play.

As it is now it's becoming to damn expensive to even go to a game anymore I hope the 2005/6 season is cancelled as well. It's amazing how much more free time I and my friends have when we aren't sitting around watching hockey.

I believe so, I think this is the first timein all professional sports and entire season has been cancelled.

I like hockey alot, and I lOVE to go to the Huricanes games, but as with most other sports it is too fuckin expencive to go to the games but once in a blue moon. $45 bucks for crap seats is just stupid. My company has a season box tickets every year, and getting to go to that is SwEEt to say the least, but they only let the "workin Joes" go about once a year.

basicly, I hope this happens to other leagues and hopfuly the fans will get pissed enough to stop spending so much $ on those whiny ass pro athletes and their greedy friggin owners and knock the whole lot of them back to reality.

Kryyst said exactly what I think no one deserves "multi-millions of dollars to play a fucking game". AKA, Good, I hope it hurts!!!

Actually (and I only just caught this on the news yesterday) 1919 was the last time that the entire hockesy season was cancelled.

Pretty much it's going to come down to a battle between the coaches and the players. Unfortunately the fans have little pull in all of this -in the short term. As prices rise and attendance drops eventually they may get the clue but it'll be arenas that suffer long before the teams do teams have so many other sources of income then attendance. It's the arenas that get rapped over rising ticket prices.

I had to laugh my ass off in disgust yesterday about the story of how some hockey players are being forced to play in Russian for 60% of what they would normally make here. Yeah the poor guys are only bringing in a million a year. My heart goes out to them.

Me too, but our team is pretty new, like 4 years old, and I am no Red Wings fan. I do have to give the Wild credit for being a descent team from the start, not great, but atleast not horrible.

Honestly though, I've never been to a game, always wanted to go though. It would be much more interesting than say a basketball game. I do watch it on tv too, but usually only when I can't find something else, or something better, or rather a show I may like to watch every week.

Used to go to hockey games, baseball, football. Got way too expensive payin to watch the million dollar babies.
Quit going to or watching baseball after the big walkout few yrs back. And haven't been since.
Hockeys on my list now too. I won't watch it anymore. Why should I, when they don't give a sh*t about us fans. Not to mention how many people did they put out of work that are connected to the games being played.
Only thing I watch now is football, golf and stuff like olympic competitions sometimes.
And even the damn Olympics has turned out to be a money scam too. Wanted to go one yr till I found out how much it cost!
