Does it matter which i use? Is one better than the other?

? not sure what you mean. You will have to use both. The 20 pin ATX is the standard power connection for most mobos, and the four pin is just 12V dedicated to the processor (I think). It's not an either/or thing.
PCstats Beginner's Guides (http://www.pcstats.com/beginners.cfm) and another good one Windows Reinstall (http://www.windowsreinstall.com/) . Between those 2 sites you can learn just about anything related to PC's. I still check through them myself. I find them interesting. Hope they help you out bud.
PS: Sorry I haven't been on lately to help you out. Heats got me beat after hrs.

ahh...back when i put together my last machine there was no 4 pin...so both have to be used...interesting....
